Hernando County, Florida… a.k.a. Paradise!

I never gave it much thought when I moved here, it being called the Nature Coast, but after having lived here I have discovered just how lucky I am. Hernando County is one of 67 counties in the state of Florida. It is tucked away on the West Coast of Florida between Citrus County to the north and Pasco County to the south. These three counties make up an area called the Nature Coast of Florida.

I find that Hernando County offers the best of the three counties. Abundant wildlife and nature, as it was hundreds of years ago, are the playground for those of us that love the outdoors. With year-round boating, fishing, kayaking on Crystal Clear Rivers or swimming with the manatees, Hernando County offers pure relaxation. For the golfer, there is an  abundance of public and semi-private golf courses that will challenge even the best hitter.

With temperatures in the 70s during January and February and warm temperatures and sea breezes from the Gulf of Mexico during the summer that leaves the spring and fall as just delightful indescribable weather. This unique weather pattern enables everyone to enjoy the Hernando County Paradise year-round!

As I traveled throughout the state of Florida, I always found that coming home I gave a sigh of relief to get back to the relaxed lifestyle. Hernando County and Spring Hill lack the hustle and bustle, the stressful traffic and instead offers relaxation of a different kind.

The County seat is Brooksville, and the heritage and history run deep. Dating back to American Indian times and moving forward to today, Hernando County has kept up with modern technology in the areas necessary but has maintained the beauty and natural habitat of the land.

From my home in Spring Hill I can go to Cocoa Beach in two and a half hours, I can be at Tampa International Airport in 50 minutes, or the playgrounds of Orlando in about an hour and a half. Tampa has everything to offer, major league sports, exquisite dining, culture of the arts, cruise ship departures not to mention the aquarium and Busch Gardens. All less than an hour away! Once you've had your fun, enjoy the short trip home to relaxation Spring
Hill style.

When you add in incredible dining options such as Carrabba’s, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, Boston Cooker and other local culinary delights I find it hard to leave a place I call home. With convenient shopping for every imagination and need right here locally it is no wonder why Spring Hill is one of the top destination's for people looking for the good life.

If you're looking for me, you'll find me enjoying the good life with friends and family and of course my faithful puppy named Maggie, in a place we call paradise!
